98 Honoring Baptized Catholics. We have two Candidates – Baptized in other faiths, not confirmed. Your podcast suggested that we do not welcome them into full communion in to the Church Community at the Easter Vigil. When and under what circumstance should they receive receive the Eucharist and Confirmation. Same question for Reconciliation. We plan a retreat and reconciliation during Holy Week.

    1. Hi Terrel. “The reception of candidates into the communion of the Catholic Church should ordinarily take place at the Sunday Eucharist of the parish community” (see National Statutes for the Catechumenate, #32).

“The celebration of the sacrament of reconciliation with candidates for reception into full communion is to be carried out at time prior to and distinct from the rite of reception” (see National Statutes for the Catechumenate, #36).

Thanks for your question and all your fine work.
