Rita Burns Senseman joins us to discuss how to handle the dismissal of child catechumens. What happens if you have different age groups? Or children’s liturgy of the word? And what about safe environment issues? Tune in to hear what the leading expert on children’s RCIA has to say.
And find out what Nick and Diana think about the right time to do a church tour with child catechumens.
In this podcast, Episode 42: RCIA dismissal with children, it would be good to discuss whether the initiation rites with children should be celebrated with the larger parish community or with a smaller gathering. As I read the rite – especially #257 and #260 – the rite seems to prefer that the rites be celebrated with a smaller gathering “since the presence of a large group might make the children uncomfortable.”
Maybe you address this in another podcast.
Thanks for your guidance!
