  1. I always want to have as many inquirers as possible, but I do have to admit that it is much easier to meet people were they are with small groups. We work at getting to know each other so that we know their needs, and they know us well enough to trust the team. I have some great folks on our team that are willing to stay after a session and talk and we invite them to parish events and attend with them. We still however make sure that they know the teachings of Jesus and His Church.

    1. Hi Ken. Thanks for chiming in. It’s great to hear how you are making this work in your parish.

Your words above reminded me of my experience in gradeschool which was just the opposite. Every time our pastor came into the classroom he taught the same lesson. Grace is God’s Life within us. It was not something scare but abundant and ever-present Same lesson all eight years. And whenever he came in to pass out report cards. The first words out of his mouth were “Who can tell me what is Sanctifying Grace?” And we all knew the answer.

    1. Hi Olivia. Wow, what a great pastor! Thanks for sharing your memory of him. He sounds like a special person.

  3. Hi Nick, I’m pretty sure the person who mentioned the six candidates was myself. I totally agree with your post, but I was hoping to get you to help coordinators realize that the readings and homily of the week can be that jumping off place to see where and how God’s grace will touch the seekers. I have worked in education and formation all of my life, so the teachable moment is real for me…in fact, I experienced it just this Sunday with our children when I threw out the lesson and went with a re-enactment of the Farmer and the Geese…Full of grace!

    1. Hi Rita. I can’t remember if it was you, specifically, but I’m happy for your response. I love that you threw out the lesson and with where the Spirit was leading you! Thanks for sharing your story.
