New newsletter supports RCIA teams

San Jose, CA – September, September 2 2008 – TeamRCIA.com, a free online resource for catechumenate teams, released today a revised newsletter format designed to offer even more support to parish leaders. “The previous newsletter was simply a monthly ‘what’s new’ announce page,” said Diana Macalintal, webmistress and layout designer. The new format has many more features.”

According to Macalintal, the revised newsletter will focus on a monthly topic as will associated posts on the TeamRCIA.com Web site. September’s topic is “sponsors.” The newsletter provides links to the Web site that deal with sponsor recruitment and formation and also includes a new article for sponsor training. In addition, the revised format offers readers small bites of content in opposing sidebars. “Some of it is whimsical and some more directly related to RCIA ministry,” said Macalintal. “For instance, this month’s edition includes a quote from John Chrysostom warning sponsors not to be negligent. And it also includes a recipe for banana bread.”

The electronic newsletter is free to anyone who signs up at on the TeamRCIA.com Web site. It offers monthly inspiration and training tips for catechumenate leaders in every parish.

If you are interested in starting and sustaining the catechumenate in your parish, TeamRCIA can help. If you are passionate about teaching others about Christ, about witnessing to the gospel, and most of all about bringing hope to those who have no hope, you will be a great minister in the catechumenate process. You might be a priest, a catechist, a team leader, a sponsor, a spiritual director, a school teacher, a pastoral associate, or even a bishop. Step right up, and Team RCIA will walk with you through every step of the process.
