“The Church, like a mother, helps the catechumens on their journey by means of suitable liturgical rites.”
That comes from the RCIA, and it is our mandate to make sure the catechumens know how to pray liturgically. Christian worship is a lot more than knowing when to sit, stand, and cross yourself. It is sacramental encounter with Jesus. And it takes a little bit of skill to be able to understand the signs and symbols the liturgy uses to help us meet Jesus.
In this webinar, we are going to show you exactly what you need to know to be able to train the catechumens in this essential part of Christian life. You and your team will learn:
- Why Christian worship is an essential part of our spiritual journey
- What makes a ritual Christian liturgy
- How to worship in a way that the liturgy itself catechizes
- What will happen to the catechumens (and to your parish) if we train them to worship well
This webinar originally aired on December 3, 2015. The full video/audio recording includes a downloadable handout and recommended resources.
