What do today's parishes need to know about RCIA?

Posted by Nick

RCIA image posted by TeamRCIAI’m working on the editorial plan for Today’s Parish Minister for next year, and the theme for the March issue is the catechumenate. I need to come up with four feature articles that explore that theme. Here’s what I’ve thought of so far. If you have any comments or other suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Thanks.

  1. Ten reasons year-round is easier than a 9-month RCIA
  2. Catechumenate in small or clustered parishes
  3. What goes wrong at the Rite of Election—and how to fix it
  4. Parish Council Agenda: Mystagogy isn’t just for the newly baptized

    excellent suggestions…go for it

year round is difficult for those who have arrived with “stories” from those who have come into the Church in less than a year

it is definitely hard for the coordinator to re-educate his/her congregation

year round is also difficult for the instantaneous lifestyle of Gen X’ers and Millennials AND the BabyBoomers(like me!) attempting to walk with them on their Faith journey
it is difficult for college students who leave our town for the summer

So, if you can address these hurdles, it will be grand

    Thanks
